At Cosgrave, Palinski & Associates, Ltd., we believe in the value of relationships. We are committed to providing close, personal attention and accessibility to our clients because we view every client relationship as a unique partnership. Typically we work with our clients over the long haul, so we get to know each person and each business and the challenges they face. We realize that our success comes as a result of our clients’ success.
Our firm is the proud beneficiary of the merger of two well-established CPA firms that shared the same operating principles of accountability, integrity, independence and reliability: May & Associates, CPA’s, P.C. of Aurora, Illinois and Jansey & Co., Ltd. of Naperville, Illinois. Read on to learn how two CPA firms called May and Jansey combined to be called Cosgrave, Palinski & Associates, Ltd.
Jansey & Co., Ltd. was founded in 1990 by Robert A. Jansey, CPA. Bob brought his extensive professional experience with Arthur Anderson and KMG Main Hurdman (now KPMG), with special authority in the banking and financial services sector. One of his first hires was a young soon-to-be CPA named John E. Cosgrave II. Over the years they built a successful business by combining their professional expertise with personal attention to the needs of both individual and business clients of the firm. When Bob decided to begin transitioning into retirement, he elected to sell to John, because he felt John was the best qualified to assure that continued commitment to his clients.
May & Associates was founded in 1991 by Arnold L. May, CPA, who was soon joined by his wife, Catherine A. May, CPA. The Mays drew on their combined experience of more than 50 years in public accounting and more than 15 years in private industry to serve the accounting and tax preparation needs of their growing firm’s many individual and business clients. After Arnold passed away in 2011, Cathy continued the practice until she retired in 2018 and sold May & Associates to Paul J. Palinski, CPA. Paul brought with him a connection to Jansey & Co., Ltd., after two tours of duty with that firm on his professional resume.
To maximize the benefits they could bring to their clients, John Cosgrave and Paul Palinski decided to merge their newly acquired CPA firms of May & Associates and Jansey & Co. into one Certified Public Accounting firm, Cosgrave, Palinski & Associates, Ltd.
Cosgrave, Palinski & Associates, Ltd. continues to work with individual and business clients in the areas of accounting, audit, tax and management advisory services. We also cultivate the corporate culture inherited from May and Jansey - to strive to provide the best personal care, service and guidance to all our valued clients.
